Content

In this lecture methods, concepts, and techniques for developing effective and user friendly interfaces from the Human-Computer Interaction point of view are taught. The modern user interfaces are not only applied to classical computers but also used for mobile devices and automotive systems as well as intelligent environments.

Following topics are discussed in the lecture:

  • An introduction to the principles and history of Human-Computer Interaction
  • Principles and models for developing interfaces and interactive systems
  • Processing information from perception, attention, and performance of users
  • Interaction concepts and style, metaphors, standards and guidelines
  • Input and output devices for interactive systems
  • Analysis and evaluation of user interfaces
  • Prototyping and developing interactive systems
  • Evaluation methods and quality assurance
