   Research     
Before I changed to the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), my focal point of research was on flow visualization. As a project member of the DFG Schwerpunktprogramm 1147: Bildgebende Messverfahren für die Strömungsanalyse (imaging methods for experimental flow measurements) I did some work in 2D and 3D real-time flow visualization, texture-based techniques, flow feature extraction, and visualization.
However, beside flow visualization, I did also some research in real-time computer graphics, like planetary terrain rendering, point-based rendering, and applications of (non-)linear ray tracing. To obtain an impression of the results achieved in the last years, I refer to the images and the respective publications. Since 2009 I am with the department of Avionics Systems at EADS in Friedrichshafen, where I am working in the field of graphics-related pilot assistance systems

The atmospheric effects were implemented according to the paper Real-Time Rendering of Planets with Atmospheres
