The junior research group (led by Dr. Kuno Kurzhals) at the Visualization Research Center at the University of Stuttgart (VISUS), Germany, is looking to fill a position for a PhD student:

PhD Research Position in Computer Science (f/m/d)

(German Federal pay scale TV-L 13, full-time, temporary)

The position is available until the 30.06.2022 with an option for extension, starting from 01.11.2021, or by agreement.

Description
The position is in the field of Visualization and Human-Computer Interaction.
The Visualization Research Center at the University of Stuttgart (VISUS) is closely connected to the cluster of excellence “Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture (IntCDC)”. Within the cluster, we are looking to fill a position in the project: 

Eye Tracking for Architectural Design and Construction

We expect applicants to conduct research in developing and evaluating visual interfaces for the support of work processes in the cluster.

Responsibilities Your Compentences We Offer
  • Research with focus on visualization, eye tracking for evaluation, and gaze-based interaction

  • Writing and publishing research results

  • Supervising student projects

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English language

  • Excellent MSc degree in computer science or a related field

  • Experience in one or more of the following fields: human-computer interaction, visualization, eye tracking, or empirical studies

  • Excellent programming skills for research prototyping, strong motivation, and teamwork ability 

  • An interdisciplinary team to work in with numerous collaboration opportunities

  • A professional workplace with state of the art technologies to conduct research

  • A structured doctoral qualification program
