Bachelor- and Master programme

You want take one of our advanced courses in visualisation, computer graphics, intelligent systems and human-computer interaction? We offer the following profiles (Vertiefungslinien):

Computer graphics/visualisation profile:
After completing the lecture on "human-computer interaction" in the 4th term, the modules "computer graphics" and "imaging science" follow in the 5th term. In the 6th term, you can choose either image synthesis or visualisation or both. In order to prepare the Bachelor thesis, we recommend attending a seminar and the project from the institute's offers.

Intelligent systems profile:
After completing human-computer interaction and imaging science in the 4th term, choose either of computer vision and Grundlagen der Künstlichen Intelligenz or both in the 5th term. For preparation of the Bachelor thesis, we recommend attending a seminar and the project from the institute's offers.

Human-computer interaction profile:
After completing "human-computer interaction" in the  4th term, the module "ubiquitous systems" in the 5th term. For preparing the Bachelor thesis, we recommend attending a seminar and the project from the institute's offers.

You are required to select the module "human-computer interaction" from the catalogue SWT in the 4th term. We strongly recommend that you acquire basic knowledge in numerics, thus attending the module "numeric and stochastic foundations of computer science". As for the Bachelor in Computer Science, we recommend attending a seminar and a project from the institute's offers as preparation of the Bachelor thesis.

Computer graphics/visualisation profile:
You must attend the "foundations of interactive systems" lecture in computer science I (INF) and/or as main course (SWT) or as elective course (INF) or addition (SWT). The exams in visualisation and interactive systems should cover two 3V+1Ü lectures (a combination of "image synthesis", "visualisation", "modelling and animation", "Visual Computing"). Study and diploma theses in this profile usually require a specialised technical (graphics programming and/or GUI programming) or comparable programming skills (e.g. from a study project of the institute).

Intelligent systems profile:
Within the master studies, on the one hand, there is the opportunity to attend the Vertiefungslinie Intelligent Systems. The exam in the Vertiefungslinie Intelligent Systems must cover two (3V+1Ü) lectures (a combination of Computer Vision, Correspondence Problems in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Introduction to Robotics, Mathematics for Intelligent Systems or Theoretical and Methodological Foundations of Autonomous Systems, Information Retrieval and Text Mining). On the other hand, apart from attending the two lectures of the Vertiefungslinie, it evidently makes sense to attend additional lectures from the involved departments/institutes. This may also be important, since in this profile, main seminars and master thesis typically require the attendance of certain master lectures as mandatory prerequisite. For instance, main seminars and master thesis of the department Intelligent Systems (Prof. Bruhn) require the attendance of the lectures Computer Vision or Correspondence Problems in Computer Vision.
