The research fields of deparments at the Institute for Visualisation and Interactive Systems are computer graphics and visualisation, interactive systems and human-computer interaction as well as intelligent systems and computer vision. We mainly focus on basic research (usually funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) and applied research (mainly promoted by federal ministries and the European Union). Additionally, projects and departmens oftentimes share research interests. Spreading research directions are visual computing and Interactive intelligent systems.
